People suffering from allergy to foods, including
nuts and shellfish, have been treated safely and successfully for many
years, as have those suffering from intolerance to foods, or chemicals
added to food. In addition, if food intolerance is involved in other
illnesses, EPD may well help, even if the cause of the illness remains
obscure. Treatment for pollen, dust, mould and animal dander is also
EPD has been used successfully in the
treatment of asthma, rhinitis, Crohn’s disease, rheumatoid arthritis,
eczema, hayfever, urticaria, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), migraine,
“chemical sensitivity” (reactions to fumes and smells), petit mal
epilepsy, lupus, hyperactivity, ADD, ADHD, glue ear, neutropenia and
psychological reactions including depression and aggression. The
secondary intolerances which complicate post-viral syndrome (ME/Chronic
Fatigue Syndrome) often respond to EPD, which can have a direct,
beneficial impact on the fatigue caused by this condition.
Two more points worth bearing in mind are
that large numbers of people are sensitive to a wider range of allergens
than they think, and will tend to pick up new sensitivities with time.
There is good evidence that EPD, with its broad mix of allergens,
protects against this problem.
40 years of use, over 300,000 doses of EPD have been given, and no
patient (adult or child) has ever suffered a major side effect. Doctors
prefer to wait to treat a child until they are about two years old but,
with a serious or life-threatening problem, treatment can be given
earlier. The youngest child ever treated was only nine months of age.
